In a bid to achieve a 100% renewable and decarbonised transportation future, Sedigas, a prominent gas association in Spain, has launched an extensive information campaign on the benefits of CNG vehicles. The campaign focuses on the use of CNG as an efficient, profitable, and sustainable alternative for mobility.
Sedigas believes that CNG has the potential to act as a bridge fuel towards renewable energy like biomethane. The association pointed out that CNG has a proven track record of sustainability since it has been used for decades in heating, hot water, air conditioning, and cooking systems. The fuel’s safety also makes it ideal for vehicle fleets.
CNG is being increasingly adopted by transportation, urban mobility, and construction companies with their own fleets and professionals. According to Sedigas, there are approximately 35,000 CNG-powered vehicles in Spain, a figure set to increase in the future.
