Cepsa and Redexis Advance in the Expansion of NGV Fuelling Network in Spain

Cepsa and Redexis have started operating their fifth refueling station for natural gas vehicles (NGV), located in Getafe, Madrid. This inauguration is part of the strategic agreement by which both companies committed to creating the largest network of service stations in Spain.

Redexis has invested over one million euros to carry out the construction of this facility, which supplies both liquefied natural gas (LNG) for heavy-duty vehicles and compressed natural gas (CNG) for light transport.

The facility is located in the city of Getafe on the A-4 motorway linking Madrid and Cádiz. This strategic location for transporting goods between the center south of the peninsula sees more than 17,000 heavy vehicles circulate daily, near major logistics centers in the southern part of Madrid.

In addition to this new station, the two companies have NGV refuelling facilities in Puerto Lumbreras (A-7), Mercazaragoza (A-2), Trujillo (A-5) and Castillejo de Iniesta (A-3). In the coming months, they plan to open another three service stations in some of the main national transport corridors; specifically, at Cepsa service stations in the provinces of Salamanca (A-62), Ciudad Real (A-4) and Pontevedra (A-52), as well as another two CNG stations in Madrid.

Santiago Ruiz, director of the Cepsa Service Station Network, highlighted: “We are continuing to advance in the development of the largest gas mobility network in Spain with the implementation of gas stations in strategic locations for the mobility of our country. The diversification of our energy solutions offering for light and heavy transport is part of our contribution to the energy transition.”

For his part, Javier Migoya, director of B2B at Redexis, said: “From Redexis and together with Cepsa, we remain committed to the creation of the largest network of gas stations in Spain, building and developing the necessary infrastructure to promote alternative fuels in our country that promote a more sustainable, economical and environmentally friendly mobility”.
