The Peruvian Ministry of Energy and Mines continues to take action to facilitate the massification of natural gas in the country. Over 800 million soles from the Social Energy Inclusion Fund (FISE) have been allocated to increase the infrastructure and number of users of this energy source, for the purpose of improving the quality of life of Peruvian families.
In addition to this, more than 520 million soles have been set aside for the BonoGas program, which will provide financing for the construction of natural gas facilities for homes, SMEs, soup kitchens, and other social initiatives. This will allow them to take advantage of an economical, clean, safe, and essential energy source for the nation’s energy transition.
To further support the growth of the vehicle sector in 2022, 125 million soles have been set aside for the NGV Savings program. This will enable the conversion of private vehicles and public transport, such as taxis and school buses, to a fuel that is more environmentally friendly and has economic savings of more than 50%, which will benefit families.
To ensure that homes, vehicles and businesses in Cusco, Ucayali and Ayacucho have access to natural gas, 150 million soles will be allocated for the development of infrastructure in these regions. This will provide these areas with the necessary infrastructure to use natural gas as an economical, clean, safe and vital energy source, enabling them to benefit from the massification of natural gas in Peru.
To conclude, the Ministry of Energy and Mines is taking the necessary steps to promote the massification of natural gas in Peru. Through its various programs, it is making natural gas more accessible to the public, increasing its usage and making an important contribution to the country’s energy transition. These initiatives will help to improve the quality of life of many Peruvian families, while also providing economic and environmental benefits.
