Tata Motors has brought zest to the automobile industry with its latest announcement. It has launched the Altroz iCNG, becoming the first company to introduce twin cylinder CNG technology in India. The Altroz, which is India’s safest premium hatchback, is now open for bookings for its much-awaited iCNG avatar. With its latest addition, Tata Motors desires to increase the acceptance of CNG cars in India to the level of petrol and diesel cars.
The Altroz iCNG has been well-received, with its unveiling at the Auto Expo 2023 for its revolutionary technology that provides CNG owners with practical usable boot space, a feature that is absent in all current CNG cars. Bookings for the Altroz iCNG have already commenced, with a minimum deposit of INR 21,000/-.
Tata Motors has set a strong precedent with its multi-powertrain strategy, making the Altroz iCNG the fourth powertrain option in its series. The innovative twin cylinder technology allows a total water capacity of 60 litres, with 30 litres capacity in each cylinder, ensuring ample usable boot space. Additionally, the advanced engine control unit (ECU) ensures a smooth and jerk-free drive experience while switching from petrol to CNG mode or vice versa.
Moreover, the Altroz iCNG comes with added safety features like thermal incident protection, gas leak detection feature, and a micro switch that assures the car is turned off during refuelling. The Altroz iCNG is available in four classic colour options – Opera Blue, Downtown Red, Arcade Grey and Avenue White – and four different variants – XE, XM+, XZ and XZ+.
The Altroz iCNG aims to bring a vehicle that compromises on nothing – no safety, no performance, no features, and no boot space. For added peace of mind, Tata Motors extends a standard warranty of three years or 100,000 km. The first tranche of deliveries is set to commence in May 2023. The Tata Motors Altroz iCNG has set new benchmarks in the auto market.
