German Actor David Kross Bets on Natural Gas with Seat

The ambassador of the Seat brand in Germany, the actor David Kross, has switched to natural gas cars. For a few weeks he has been making his private trips with the family version of the new Seat León TGI.

“Alternative powertrains are becoming more and more important, because things cannot continue as they are now,” the actor explained. “In the medium term, the path of electromobility is clearly traced. But today, in times of semiconductor shortages and with a network of charging stations that can still be expanded, the biomethane-powered Seat León 1.5 TGI is already making a notable contribution to sustainability and climate protection,” he added.

Using the same aesthetic codes as the rest of the versions in the range, the León TGI combines a 130 hp bi-fuel engine with a 7-speed automatic gearbox. Equipped with 3 tanks that store up to 17.3 kilos of CNG at 200 bars, it allows more than 400 kilometres of autonomy with a full tank of natural gas. To this is added a small 9-liter gasoline tank that offers about 150 kilometres of additional autonomy.

Longer than the classic 5-door Leon, the SportsTourer TGI stretches 4.6 meters and benefits from a 480-litre boot, or 180 litres more than the sedan (300 litres).
