LADA Produced 10,000 Bi-Fuel CNG Vehicles

JSC AVTOVAZ, together with its partner LLC ATS-AUTO, presented the 10,000th dual-fuel LADA car – the Vesta sedan powered by compressed natural gas (CNG).

LADA CNG models use gasoline and CNG as an energy source. It is a more ecological and economical option. Natural gas increases the service life of the engine and reduces the cost of operating the car: with an average annual mileage of 20,000 kilometres, fuel costs are reduced by up to 3 times and savings reach up to 40,000 rubles (depending on driving style) . Due to their economy, bi-fuel units are used successfully as work vehicles, for example around 30% of the LADA Vesta CNG is operated in taxi services.

Methane is also one of the safest fuels, in addition the fuse and the speed valve integrated in the gas cylinder avoid any possibility of rupture of the same, as well as the uncontrolled escape of gas in case of damage.

The LADA Vesta GNC has a 90-liter gas cylinder located in the trunk, while maintaining the standard 55-liter gas tank. Thanks to this, the car can travel more than 1,000 kilometres without refuelling.

It should be noted that the cost of the model remained competitive (805,900 rubles) thanks to the state subsidy Ecogas, introduced at the initiative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
