Network of NGV Stations in Spain and Portugal Increased in the Second Half of 2020

So far this year, 25 public access gas stations have been opened in Spain and Portugal. October was the month in which more gas stations were inaugurated with five openings and in November one was inaugurated. Gas companies were also very active in the previous months, with the opening of three gas stations each month between June and September. The data for February was also good, with four openings. Between the months of March to May, only three gas stations could be opened due to the health emergency situation we are facing.

Of these stations, 4 have been built in Portugal and Andalusia, 3 in Madrid and the Valencian Community, 2 in Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha and the Basque Country and one in Catalonia, Extremadura, Galicia, Murcia and the Canary Islands, where the Disa Group has opened the first public CNG station in the archipelago. Most of them supply both CNG and LNG, while in nine they only supply compressed natural gas and in another two only liquefied natural gas.

In total, Spain already has 147 natural gas refuelling points, of which 98 supply CNG and 61 LNG. In addition, there are 35 CNG and 25 LNG in the project. For its part, Portugal has 19 gas stations, 14 supply CNG, with 3 more in the pipeline, and 10 LNG, with 1 in the pipeline.
