Naturgy Opens First Public CNG Station in Mataró, Barcelona

Naturgy has installed the first public station for the supply of natural gas for vehicles in the city of Mataró. It is located in the industrial estate of Les Hortes, a strategic location due to its proximity to dealers of the main brands that market vehicles powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) and companies with large fleets.

Also, this station provides a new refuelling point to the Maresme region and, given its strategic location, at the foot of the C-32 motorway, it allows servicing the vehicles that travel along the coast.

This natural gas supply station in Mataró joins the other 6 gas stations that Naturgy manages in the province of Barcelona: three in Barcelona (Bon Pastor, Marenostrum-Litoral and Zona Franca), L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Santa Perpètua de Mogoda and Viladecans.

The start-up of this new natural gas supply station is part of the company’s mobility promotion project, which aims to promote the use of natural gas as fuel as the best sustainable alternative to fossil fuels derived from natural gas. Petroleum.

This new public natural gas supply station is another step forward for Naturgy in its commitment to move forward in the transition to clean energy models in transport that contribute to improving air quality and, therefore, the health of people.

The new map of vehicular natural gas recharging points in Spain will make it possible to meet the increase in demand in the coming years and reinforce the availability of this fuel in the market, given the increase in vehicles propelled by natural gas.
