First CNG and LNG station in Ciudad Real is Now Open

The first refuelling station for compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the province of Ciudad Real, Spain, is already operational. Located in the Campo de Aviación industrial estate of Santa Cruz de Mudela, a few meters from the A-4 motorway, the installation is the result of collaboration between Endesa, Calidad Pascual and Transcentro Marín.

The installation is a project of Endesa, driven by the local company Transcentro Marín and the group of dairy products Calidad Pascual. It has supply capacity for the fleet of trucks and vehicles of both companies and also serves vehicles that run on gas, unrelated to those involved.

The new natural gas station will be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG).

For more than 50 years, Transcentro Marín has been dedicated to the transport of merchandise by road, completing the services with the storage and distribution of goods, as well as the provision of freight forwarding services. The manager of the company, Carlos Marín, stressed that “natural gas is an effective fuel to reduce the carbon footprint of logistics and transport activities and, therefore, this ‘gasoline’ is a commitment to the alternatives that respect environment”.

The general director of Commercialization of Endesa, Javier Uriarte assured that the mobility to vehicular natural gas “is the solution for the long distance, urban and interurban transport and for essential services for the society like the garbage collection”.
